Assistant Edit Access
The Assistant Edit Access feature allows you to manage who can view and edit specific assistants within your team. With this tool, you can adjust accessibility settings and control editor permissions.
Access Level Settings for Assistant
Under Access Level Settings, you can select how visible the assistant will be to others:
- Public: All users can view, and editors can be added freely.
- Only team: The assistant is visible to team members, and you can add team editors.
- Only me: Restricts visibility to the assistant owner, disabling editor additions.
1. Navigate to the assistants section from the sidebar
2. Click on the three dots next to the assistant you own
3. Click on Edit Access
4. Under the Assistant Accessibility section in the drawer, the current access level for the assistant can be seen
5. The assistant access level can also be toggled between Public, Only Team and Only me here.
Adding Editors to Assistant
To add team members as editors:
- Ensure the assistant’s access level allows for editor additions (e.g., "Public" or "Only team").
- Use the autocomplete input to find and select users by email.
- Click Add to confirm the selection.
Notice how the edit options for the assistant "Pythonuces" are accessible
But for this assistant, It says that Edit Access Permissions are Required
This assistant cannot be edited as it is owned by another user, and edit permissions have not been assigned by the owner.
Similarly, for assistants you own, you can designate specific users who are permitted to edit the assistant.
1. Search for the team member here
2. Select the user from the dropdown
3. Click on Add
Adding editors is restricted (for assistants with "Only me" access level), you’ll see a message explaining the limitation.
Managing Current Editors
In this section, you can view and manage current editors:
- Navigate to the Editors list within Assistant Edit Access.
- See each editor’s details (e.g., name, email).
- Use the delete icon to remove an editor as needed; note that access level restrictions may apply.
